LCHF PURPOSE

As of June 2015 Lennar Charitable Housing Foundation (“LCHF”) has donated more than $8.6 million to more than 90 charities throughout California and Nevada. Since 2001, LCHF – a tax-exempt, nonprofit 501(c)(3) public benefit corporation – has been, and will continue to be, highly influential in bettering communities by providing ongoing support to charities that serve the homeless, transitionally homeless — men, women and children forced to live on the streets or  substandard housing as a result of  unfortunate  circumstances such as domestic violence, unemployment, crisis pregnancies and catastrophic illness to name a few — and working, low-income, families and individuals.

ABOUT US

Launch a Legacy of Hope!

The feeling you get from helping others is unparalleled. It makes you feel great inside… it makes you smile. Every member of the Lennar Family of Homebuilders cherishes this feeling and is excited about the opportunity to share it with you through Lennar Charitable Housing Foundation.

Since the company’s inception in 1954, the Lennar Family of Homebuilders has played a major role in bettering the community through charitable contributions and in-kind donations for many important challenges facing society. One issue that has touched our hearts is the overwhelming need for housing assistance for the transitional homeless — the hundreds of thousands of men, women and children forced out onto the streets due to a variety of causes, some of which are:

  • Domestic violence
  • Unemployment
  • Crisis pregnancies
  • Catastrophic illness

Lennar Charitable Housing Foundation was established to assist those people in need of shelter by providing ongoing financial support to organizations dedicated to solving this difficult problem. To do this an amount equal to a small percentage of the sales price of the home sold — now and every time it is resold — will be contributed to our foundation then in turn distributed to the organizations who need it most. This is a way for families fortunate enough to own a home to become our partner in providing hope to those without a roof over their heads. The obligation to pay the endowment fee rests jointly on the buyer and the seller and they may choose to satisfy the donation in any manner they so choose.

CHARITIES

LCHF has truly fashioned a legacy of hope for those individuals who would otherwise experience hopelessness. LCHF does not believe in giving a hand-out, but rather a hand-up.

BUILDERS

Such a magnificent program is made possible with the help of homebuilders nationwide. Upon each escrow closing in a LCHF community, a fee totaling 1/20th of one percent of the gross sales price of the home is collected from the buyer on the original sale and on every subsequent resale.
